I wanted to order lunch, around 11:30 am today, using the delivereasy.co.nz online platform.
I found satay burgers easily enough - from Khmer Satay - but there were numerous unlabeled website buttons, and my screen reader could only say "button not sufficiently informative".
I missed out on lunch. And they missed out on my money!
No one wins that battle.
The new access laws should make sure all New Zealand websites and mobile apps comply with the international Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
This is a story about the barriers many face. We're sharing it because we want a law that puts accessibility at the heart of an inclusive Aotearoa New Zealand.
