Invitation: Petition Presentation Brainstorming Meeting

Calling all creative minds and bodies! Let’s showcase our brilliance and make sure every New Zealander knows exactly why Access Matters!

Our community has a wealth of untapped talent, and right now we need to harness it to make the most of the opportunity of presenting the Access Matters Aotearoa petition, which calls on the Government to broaden the scope of the Accessibility for New Zealanders Bill.

We also need to engage the hearts and minds of our MPs, our media and by extension the rest of our team of five million. This is where you come in.

Jan Logie MP will receive the Access Matters Aotearoa petition at Parliament on Wednesday 22 February. We are delighted that David Lepofsky - our international expert on accessibility law, acclaimed Canadian Accessibility Advocate and a long-time supporter and catalyst for the Access Matters campaign - with be with us for the petition presentation.

Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi engari he toa takitini.

It is not my strength alone, but the strength of many that contributes to my success.

We'd like as many campaigners as possible to join us at the petition presentation on Parliament Grounds - in the Seddon Statue and front lawn area - on Wednesday 22 February 2023 between 1:00pm and 2:00pm for the petition presentation.

In the meantime, we need your ideas to create an impactful stunt for the day. We invite you to join us for an online meeting to brainstorm ideas and create a campaign moment that makes history!

Join us from 5:00pm – 6:00pm this Thursday 9 February.

Accessibility: NZSL Interpreters and auto-captioning are available.

We hope you will join us.

Want to collab but won’t be able to be in Wellington for the petition presentation? No problem. You can join the brainstorming meeting to share your ideas, and you can show your support for the petition presentation on Facebook.
