Tēnā koe

Like you, the Access Alliance team had a different plan in mind for what we would be doing right now. We are all adjusting to a new world and a new reality, and none of us knows how this is going to play out.

What we do know is how important it is to pull together and stay connected.

We all want every New Zealander to be safe, feel connected and have their needs met - especially during the COVID-19 lockdown - but right now those with access needs are in danger of being overlooked.

Recently you signed up to be an Access Matters Social Media Amplifier.

We want to add you to the Access Matters Amplification Group on Facebook so you can take action to ensure our voices are heard.

Our country, our communities and our leaders will learn a great deal from this time and we want to document the stories and experiences of our community. Our leaders need to know how this has impacted people with access needs.

By pulling together, and using our collective networks, we can ensure that no one is left behind now or in the future.

If you can help make sure our #AccessMattersNZ call is heard, please visit the Access Matters Amplification Group on Facebook and ask to join.

Follow our Twitter feed @AccessForAllNZ

We know that change is possible and that the most effective action will happen by making sure those at the top hear our call to put Accessibility Legislation at the heart of a more inclusive Aotearoa New Zealand.

Thank you so much for all your support.

Ngā mihi nui,

Ite Lemalu for The Access Matters Team
